For the past few weeks, the aquatics industry has been keeping a close eye on the COVID-19 outbreak and how it's impacting public facilities. Many of you have had questions about how this virus might affect your own operations, especially in relation to treated pool water. Information has been released from our partners with the CDC's Waterborne Disease Prevention Branch advising there is no evidence at this time that COVID-19 can be spread to humans through the use of pools and hot tubs. Proper operation, maintenance, and disinfection (e.g., with chlorine and bromine) of pools and hot tubs should remove or inactivate the virus that causes COVID-19.

Click here for this guidance and other water-related guidance from the CDC.

The World Waterpark Association has put together a web link with additional COVID-19 information. That can be found here: Visit the WWA's Coronavirus page to learn more.

We will continue to work on providing any additional information that might be helpful to you as you prepare to manage and mitigate the spread of the virus in your local community. Please reference the CDC website for the most up to date information.
